Services: New Web Design
Year: 2024
In today’s digital world, having a well-designed website is no longer optional—it’s essential. A website is your 24/7 storefront, providing potential customers with the information they need to visit your business, shop your products, or connect with your brand. Whether you own a coffee shop, a boutique, or a service-based business, your website plays a crucial role in how people discover and engage with you online.
For The Carpenter’s Cup in Smithville, Ohio, their website is more than just a digital presence—it’s a reflection of their brand, their passion for coffee, and their craftsmanship in woodworking.

Bringing The Carpenter’s Cup Online
When I worked with The Carpenter’s Cup to design their website, the goal was to create a space that highlighted both their cozy coffee shop and the handcrafted woodworking items sold in-store under the name Hubacher Originals. Since their shop offers a unique blend of gourmet coffee and handmade wooden pieces (such as cutting boards and custom furniture), we needed a website that could showcase both elements clearly and effectively.
Here’s what we focused on:
1. A Warm, Inviting Design
Much like the atmosphere inside the shop, we wanted the website to feel welcoming. Using earthy tones, rustic accents, and a simple, user-friendly layout, we created a design that reflects the heart of The Carpenter’s Cup.
2. A Seamless User Experience
Visitors can easily navigate between the coffee menu, store information, and the Hubacher Originals gallery. Whether someone is looking for their next favorite latte or browsing handcrafted wooden items, the site is built to guide them effortlessly to what they need.
3. An SEO-Optimized Website
To help The Carpenter’s Cup rank well in Google search results, we focused on:
– Local SEO optimization – Ensuring that coffee lovers in Smithville, Ohio can easily find them online
– Mobile-friendly design – Making sure the site works smoothly on phones, tablets, and desktops
– Fast loading speeds – Optimizing code and layout for performance
Since the woodworking section was intended primarily as a visual showcase rather than an e-commerce storefront, we kept SEO efforts focused on the coffee shop itself.
4. A Dedicated Woodworking Gallery for Hubacher Originals
One of the unique elements of this project was designing a gallery page for Hubacher Originals, allowing customers to browse past woodworking projects, including handmade cutting boards and custom furniture pieces. The images in this section were provided by the client to help keep website costs down, and while they may not be professional photography, they still give a great representation of the craftsmanship behind each piece.
